Palmer Environmental Collaboration | Good Crews Make Good Days

In the vast and rugged wilderness of Northern British Columbia, two environmental consulting companies have forged a relationship that sets a high-bar for what collaboration can look like out in the field. Palmer Environmental and Chu Cho Environmental have been working together for years now, conducting surveys, collecting data, and analyzing information on the health of the environment. Their latest project took them to the Benchmark Metals Lawyers Gold-Silver project in Northern BC, where they spent a week working in the snow and cold on hydrological baseline studies.

For Stephen Friesen, an Environmental Scientist with Chu Cho, the experience of working in such a remote and beautiful part of his territory is deeply rewarding. "I love the feeling of reconnecting with the land," he says. "It also helps build character. I find that going through hard times just builds it up for you. With winter, you come across a lot of different obstacles and challenges, but all in all, I just like being out on the land and knowing that I can do this. It definitely gives me that value."

For Shayna Trousdell, an environmental scientist with Palmer, the work is just as rewarding. "At every site you get to there are two parts to it," she says. "It's the digging out and then the actual measurements. And once the digging out is done, the measurements are easy."

The two companies have a symbiotic relationship that allows them to work together seamlessly. As Friesen puts it, "This Palmer and Chu Cho relationship is one of the best working relationships I've ever had. Good times all the time."

For these dedicated Environmental Scientists, the work is not just a job, it's a calling. They are passionate about monitoring the environment and doing their parts to ensure it remains healthy for future generations. And in the frozen wilderness of remote Northern British Columbia, they have found the perfect canvas to put that passion into action together.
