Employment Opportunity:

Chu Cho Environmental is seeking an individual with unrivaled passion and dedication for helping people achieve success in their jobs. With a background in science, logging, forestry, business, psychology or a related field, the Employee Success Coordinator (ESC) will work one-on-one with individuals from our team to provide strong and consistent support over a long period of time. This job is about supporting our employees along their journey by creating relationships and providing support where it is needed. This opportunity is based in the office and in the field as you work with our staff on various aspects of their jobs.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with our staff to build individual plans that support their growth and employment objectives.

  • Provide consistent support for our staff over long periods of time.

  • Work with staff to identify barriers to success and provide the specific 1-to-1 support that is needed to push through those impediments.

  • A significant commitment to the role and the individuals you will help.

  • Be available when needed to respond to situations where support is critical to individual, project and company success.

Requirements:

  • A degree or diploma.

  • Demonstrated experience or skills in working with individuals to develop success plans. 

  • Knowledge and understanding of the types of support an individual may need in order to be successful in their role.

  • Broad range of interests and willingness to work on a variety of projects. 

  • Action oriented background including strong evaluation, synthesis and critical thinking skills. 

  • A disposition for listening and having thoughtful conversations with your team.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in formal, informal, and technical settings.

  • Physically fit and comfortable conducting field work in remote locations and in all weather conditions.

  • Comfortable and/or willing to drive on radio-controlled forest service roads for long periods of time. 

  • Strong logistical planning and problem solving skills.

  • Willing to complete up to 14-day field shifts, and adaptable to changing schedules and requirements.

  • Ability to work both independently or as part of a team.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands.

  • High level of integrity and work ethic.

  • BC Class 5 driver’s license.

Preferred Experience:

  • Comfortable with wilderness travel.

  • Comfortable with backcountry travel and camping. 

  • Experience working with Indigenous communities, organizations or governments.

  • Knowledge of the environmental research and consulting industry is an asset.  

Compensation will be commensurate with skills and experience.
